Connecting to ECwireless with Windows 7

Windows 7 is Microsoft’s most popular version of its Windows operating system; getting connected to ECwireless is an easy process that we’ll guide you through here. This guide is specifically for Windows 7, but Windows Vista will be very similar.

If you're using a version of Windows prior to Vista, such as Windows XP, give the Help Desk a call or stop by with your laptop - we'll get you set up in no time!

Choose ECwireless from the Available Wireless Networks

1. Click on the Wireless icon in the system tray to view your list of Available Wireless Networks. From that list, click on ECwireless and then click Connect.

Enter your ECnet username and password

2. Enter your ECnet username and password in the next box that appears, and then click OK.

Click Connect to continue

3. You should see this ominous sounding warning message. This is nothing to worry about so click Connect to continue. You'll see the Wireless icon in the system tray change to a warning sign. After another moment, it'll change again to full, regular reception bars and you’re online!

Connected to ECwireless

In future, your computer should connect automatically to ECwireless, and you shouldn’t have to do anything until you change your password. Just be patient as the connection is established.
